I have all three schaller, cheap plastic, dunlop. They're all better than just using a strap.
The kicker is whether you want to take the strap off when you put it in the case or gigbag. With both the dunlops and the plastic the lock kind of comes apart when it's not on the guitar. That means the potential for loosing a necessary part is there and you could wind up at a show with no ability to get strapped at all (in the dunlop case really... because if you lost a plastic one you could still just go the old fashioned way and just strap it) The schallers are attached to the strap so it's a one time deal. That has room for error though, because if the washer unscrews itself after a which it's all going to fall apart on stage.
