I do, the schaller ones, they work, what else is there to sayspudmaster34 said:I just finished putting a set on one of my basses, so i was wondering how many of you use them.

FretFree said:I have to be honest here: I don't care for the Dunlop strap locks at all. I had them on an old bass of mine. When they were "fresh" they worked great. After a year of consistant gigging (200+ shows) they started to give. Finally my bass started popping off at shows. The Dunlops were history.
The Schallers aren't overly easy on the eyes, but they do have a couple of features that I enjoy:
1) Even if the locking mechanism fails, the bass will not fall off. The locks themselves are "U" shaped. As long as the "U" is facing up (with the lock end inside) your bass will not fall off (unless you are an "active" bassist).
2) Other people can play my bass with their own strap (w or w/o Schallers... but not with Dunlops). Now that I think of it, this is potentially a disadvantage... and it is really only an "advantage" over the inset Dunlops which DO look REALLY COOL.
IMHO, of course.
