STREET BASS - New FleaBass Model.

Hey everyone!
I just noticed on the Fleabass site that they have a new model, priced at $299. Four new colors, but the model looks the same as the original Fleabass, so I don't understand why it's cheaper.

I'm going to look into it.

Honestly, these basses look a hell of a lot better than the flamboyant original ones.

I just don't understand the price....

Exactly what I'm worried about.

Unless they forgot to update the price for either model, I can't see why they would keep one at one price and another at another price, when basically they are both the same models.

Something smells fishy about this..

i think honestly they werent selling many at all,i think people would look into a olp or subb or sterling models if they want a mm style bass,which is what flea really plays, the 300 price tag to me seems more like it

Also, there is the Wild One (original model) and the Black and White one (Street Bass), so if they're not the same model, there's got to be some difference between them.

Who honestly knows, its like the SB14 and RAY34 models, the only difference is that the 14 is a Sterling style, while the 34 is 'traditional'.

I often wondered about the price of the Street models compared to the originals. At least they're priced more realistically.

They've got matching headstocks, and look pretty cool. Not as wacky as the others. I see this potentially becoming one of the new mod projects on TB if people got past fleas name on it.
And the price cut doesnt mean it's made of cardboard.

I've learned to not be shocked or surprised by anything FleaBass throws at you, or how badly they are made, so if it WAS made of cardboard, I could've seen it coming.

Has anyone figured the difference between the touring and street basses? in the specs of the touring they talk about the bridge, which they don't mention on the street's specs, but they seem to be the same. And that silver one does look great. Actually I think I love the blue&white one as well, but I don't know if I'd have the guts to buy one of those, lol

Why does anyone have a problem with Flea's name on it, or for the original colours for that matter? For f***s sake, did anyone see his pants in the 80s? It's hardly a surprise. I think they look downright funky

I think they're cool, and have played some that weren't bad. I like the green and pink one, think is cool as hell. Played a really nice one and almost bought it. I was just saying that cause that seems to be the general attitude on talkbass

I'd rather buy a Squire Classic Vibe jazz bass for my money. Or, pay a couple hundred more and get a Sterling SB-14 (which is an awesome bass).

FIGURED OUT THE DIFFERENCE!! Street bass has basswood body, the touring one is alder. the rest is the same for both. now for the question: is alder worth the price difference? my guess is "not".
200$ difference on the price tag wouldn't be worth it even if it had the alder, duncan pups, badassII bridge and a pau ferro fretboard. well, maybe then it would be worth it

I would love to hear a sound clip from these new street models just to see if they sound any different than the originals (which don't have good highs imo).

I don't think ANYONE has these yet.
