String Advice

Always used middle of the road Boomers and Elixers on my basses but ready for a string change and want to try something new.

Gibson Thunderbird - want to keep it edgy and aggressive, should I try Super Steels? Since the TBird is already pretty aggressive, am I overcompensating with this choice?

American Jazz - used for blues, R&B, funk - going to try half-wounds or rather pressure wounds. Want versatility (Reggae, Motown) of a warmer sound but still be able to play the other genres.

What do you all think of those choices? I'm not limited to a particular manufacturer, by the way.......so any brand advice is welcome.

Peace - JG

If you want to try SS rounds for a bright sound with tight deep lows - try some D'Add Prosteels. They sound great and only cost about $14 at bassstringsonline.com or juststrings.com. They are some of the cheapest great sounding SS roundwound strings out there. GC, and a lot of music stores stock them as well.
