I can't figure out which strings are on it.

Reddish purple, only at winding end, no silk at ball end, brass colored ball ends.

Presumably roundwounds.

Thought I had a good guess with GHS Progressives; even burgundy silks at winding end, no silks at ball end. However Progressives should have saddle huggers at the ball ends on the bigger strings. Has that always been the case? The bass in 12 years old and has been played very little, its possible the strings have been on there a while.

Also, fixed the thread title.

Are the strings on your Ibanez round over the pickups and then compressed/ground over the fretboard, like the comments in the Fretmasters area?

Otherwise, my guess is GHS B52s. Brass ball ends, burgundy silk on one end, 37" winding length, etc.. They've been discontinued for a while, although sets still pop up.
