played a mighty fine bass the other day with awesome strings.

Roundwound, light grey silk at both ends and NO taper on any string. They seemed to be nickle plated.

GHS Super Steels also have grey silk, and they don't "clank" as much as other stainless strings, so they could be mistaken for nickel plated rounds.
