Double Bass String Length

I'm building an EUB with a scale length of 38". How do I know how long the strings need to be. It's around
53.5 " from the tuners to the back side of the body.

38" is half size bass lenght I think.
So half bass DB strings should fit.
You won't have as much choice as regular (3/4) lenght, but still many to choose from.
