String recommendations for 3rd bass

I've just acquired a third bass It's a Spector 4 string bass. I borrowed it from a friend years ago and he had it strung with DR Hi-Beams. I liked it so much I went and bought a Spector 5 string, and I keep Hi-Beams on it. I also have a Fender P bass with Thomastik Jazz Flats. I love both sounds.

My friend just decided to sell the Spector 4 string, so I bought it. However, instead of having two Spector basses strung with Hi-Beams, it seems to me that I should try something with a sound somewhere between the Hi-Beams on Spector and the TI-Jazz Flats on the P-bass.

Any recommendations?

Thanks, Leni

I played hi-beams for awhile, then just couldn't afford to anymore. I switched to fodera strings, cheaper on juststrings.com . Same style of tone imo but better. Try those out!

Might want to check out Bass Strings Online if you want better prices. Since he is more realistically priced than juststrings, DR Highbeams are $2 cheaper than Fodera. And that's before the TB user VIP discount. Stop paying too much for your strings! You can go back to HiBeams now and save a few bucks.

DR Sunbeams. Nice string and should fall in the middle.

Great strings. I would suggest Low Riders though.

It only takes about 2 sets to spend hundreds with LaBella :)

Just kidding!

Really, La Bellas dont really cost that much considering. I use Hard Rockin Steels for all of my five strings. They are worth what I pay (25.00 a set) because they sound so good and last much, much longer than the other sets I have used. Everyone talks about how expensive they are and I stand around scratching my head. Go to samash.com They have La Bellas for great prices.
