My slow, first build is finally starting to come together, one week left on a clear finish that's drying. I'm now brainstorming what strings I might pickup for the first run on it. It will wear roundwounds, no flats for this bass. The build is a J body w/ P pickups and neck, and I ended up going with a set of Nordstrand Precision Power Blade 4 pickups. I like their "sassy" character as one reviewer put it, along with their slightly articulated top end. I can see why reviews say they sit well in the band setting.
Anywho, what do you all think? I have a set of EB Cobalts, LaBella Super-Steps, and Fodera SS, all rounds, new and ready to go, but I really want to try out something different. For those of you who have experience with the Nordstrand Precision Power Blades, what were your roundwound strings of choice to pair with them, and why? Attached is a demo vid of the pickups for reference.
