I recently traded my stingray for a American jazz. I had ernie ball regular slinkys on my 'ray because I normally play half a step down. Any recommendations for the jazz played half a step down?
I would use DR Lo Riders .45 to .105, they have a great tension for detuning. I tune my 45 65 and 85 down a full step and they still have plenty of stiffness to them. I do change out the 105 for a 115, but that's tuning it between D and C.
Half stepping it with Lo Riders, I don't think you would even feel the difference.
