I'm going to be acquiring a Dingwall ABZ in the near future, and it's gonna have the stock (stainless steel) strings on it. I'm not a stainless guy by any means, so I'm looking at all the alternatives for this bass.

I've gathered a few options for nickel and flat wound strings.

Strings tat definitely work include:
Payson Fanned Fret Bass Strings

Link Removed in medium scale.

And some state that D'addario Super Long will work for the Low B.

Are there any other options in nickel strings for a Dingwall?

Depends on the brand you are looking for...

I believe at least a 38" winding Length for the B string will work, so that opens you up to GHS Long+ / La Bella Nickel Plated Steel Series Extra Long / Fodera Extra Long / Sadowsky Extra Long / D'Addario Extra Long / Circle K as you mentioned / TI Rounds & Flats are available as singles and their extra longs have 40" ball to silk /

It really depends on the tuning / gauges you are looking at.

Most D'Addarrio SL's B's will not fit. It's hit or miss, mostly miss. That's why I developed the Payson Fanned Bass String line.

You'll need longer than 38" for the B

Thanks for the info guys. I was wondering how the fan affected tension balanced string sets.

So, Blues Cat, the Payson strings are made by D'addario, correct, but marketed and sold by you?
