Strings for Godin A4

Hi All,

I just stumbled on a set of D'Addario Nylon Tapewound strings. I put them on my Fernandes Nomad travel bass, and I really like the way they sound! The Nomad is a short scale and has a Piezo pickup, and the difference in tone between the heavy round-wounds it came with and the medium tape wounds is amazing.

I'm thinking of trying tapewounds on my Godin A4 Fretless. Has anyone tried tapewounds on an A4? I like the D'Addario's, but is there a better choice for the fretless?

I changed to the tapes on my ESP and really liked the difference. I found when I switched them over to the Godin they tend to buzz, especially on the G. I googled godin a5 strings. Godin's produced a string chart. They recommend D'Addario ECB81 - SL for the 4s, - ECB81 - 5SL for the 5s (flats). I needed to check the Godin site because I found that the B string is too big for the slot under the bridge on some string makes, and I don't want to file it.
