that's great- but, could you elaborate a little as to what kind of WOW it is?I mean, what kind of change is it?
And I'd really like to know what causes the change, but that seems to be a mystery.

Basically I felt that my E string was kind of dead... I wasn't really happy with it and we are talking about a spiro mittel! Probably a great setup could have done the same thing but there aren't any "wizard" luthiers around here (shame...).
The bass just opened. Strong E string, more resonante A string, and the other strings just sounded better and more focused. Also the harmonics are more clear! I think it is an inexpensive way to improve the sound of your bass, if your instruments happens to like that configuration better. Also there's no real change in tension which is a plus!
