Strings

SIT makes great strings. Their regular Power Wound are similar to any standard nickel like D'Addario XL or EB Slinky's, but their Foundations really stand out. They are a little lower tension and have a nice clear midrange, they are in the DR/Dunlop camp.

As a big fan of GHS Pressurewounds (Alloy 52), I've been curious about SIT Silencers (nickel-plated steel). There have been times I felt the extra responsive, mid-forward character of Alloy 52 wasn't the right thing for certain basses, eg my P-bass. Unfortunately, though, the Silencers don't come in my preferred gauges, ie 40-55-75-95.
