Stripped truss rod

Sadly, I've stripped the truss rod on one of my basses. Since this is the first time in my career that I've ever encountered this, can someone tell me if there is some to either repair or replace the truss rod. It is a bolt on neck, but not a Fender style. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Need pics... when you say stripped. Do you mean the head is stripped and the tool won't / can't engage or ... does the tool work just fine and the rod just turns but nothing is happening?

Well, If it is just a stripped adjustment nut, very easy fix. Tons of vids on YT, and they make tools just for that.

If the rod is bad, then it's time to learn how to replace it. I know many will say just buy a new/used neck, but it really isn't as difficult as it seems, and a new rod is only $15 - $20.

Here's how I did mine. Heat with iron a few minutes or so to soften the glue, removed iron and ease putty knife under board. Don't force too hard, and go until difficult to continue. Put iron back on neck a little further down and keep working putty knife down until again, too hard to push. Repeat and continue process until it comes off. Once the boadr is off, remove and replace rod and glue fret board back on. I used plain old carpenters glue (titebond) and some rubber band type clamps. Just take your time and pay attention to detail.
