Stripping Rat Fur

It's getting there. I'm taking my time, don't want to ruin it. I still have the back and left sides to do as well as the bottom. It'll get there. I'm hoping they go somewhat quicker compared the surfaces I've already done since I've improved my technique a bit since I started sanding. It'll get there though.
It's most def a lot of work. You don't really realize how much till you get to sanding and you realize how much it takes to get through a lot of the glue left behind. But I feel like it's going to be very rewarding in the end. Plus I have a lot of time these days so this is fun and it helps me pass the time.
Haha funny you should say that. I've been using this cab as a coffee table at home. I had like 10 pedals stuck to it all around just to pluck off or play through. I'm going to miss having that handy. I was able to keep a good portion of the fur, it sticks really good still. I may keep to patch a board one a day or whatever. It's still pretty good stuff. Even though it's a little smelly, I can live with that.
Rat fur should be removed and we should each do our part. My contribution:

So here she is as of today. I added a bass hanger last night. It ended up really awesome imo. And I can just slip the hook in and out as needed for transportation sake and so forth. Still need to add the Ampeg pull bar and the grill cloth. I’m still going back and forth on the cloth. But I really want to take it there. I think it’ll look awesome. I’ll end up going with oxblood.
But anyway, here she is!!! I’m pretty happy with er so far: (these pics in poor lighting don’t seem to do it justice. But I’ll try and post more when I’m totally done in sunlight so you can really see the stain and veneer underneath)

Oh, and i noticed something when I was cleaning the back/top handle. It’s a Peavey handle. It’s got their logo printed on the inside of it. Does anyone know if that was normal for SWR to use Peavey parts? I figured it was just a Peavey brand/proprietary cab handle?
I think the oxblood grille cloth will look great.
The bass hanger on the cab is one of those "Why didn't I think of that?" ideas.
Put one on the other side and you can have two basses to choose from, handy at any time.
Add some velcro and a couple of hooks for pedals and cables, and you have a self contained unit.
My Crate BT50 has rat fur, but I'm going to keep it on there.
I'm just going to get some carpet and upholstery cleaner in a can (with built in brush), remove the grille, speaker, and chassis, and spray, scrub, and vacuum off.
I'd love to remove it and Tolex it or something, but I just have too many irons in the fire.
