Ok so I've searched and read Ivanmikes ohm guide, but i still can't find my answer.

long and short of it,

SVT 7Pro
600 watts rms @ 8 ohms, 5% THD 1000 watts rms @ 4 ohms, 5% THD

SVT410hlf- 4ohm
SVT410HE- 8ohm

obviously running the 2 cabs parallel would give me 2.6 ohms = BAD

If I run them series/daisy chain though? Head->4ohm cab->8ohm cab

Would that still create my low imp. level of 2.6?

It will, unless you make or buy an ACTUAL series cable. Plugging into one cab and into the next is still a parallel connection and will result in a 2.6 ohm load. A proper series cable will work and result in a 12 ohm load. However I'd be surprised if those two cabs would play nice with each other, because their low end voicings are so different.

Thanks David, I appreciate your quick reply.
Thats kinda what I guessed. I had the 4ohm cab prior and was given the 8ohm at a total steal.
I guess ideally 2 of the 8ohm HE cabs would give me a bit more "oomph" as i'll be getting 4ohms thru 810's.
Like a SVT810 at 4 ohms. Sigh LOL

If you're looking for 810 cab sound, the HE will get you much closer. I'd try to sell or trade the HLF for another HE.

if you already have both cabs you could pick up an inexpensive power amp. for example I power my 410he with a crown xls1500. I got it on sale for like $300. Its a class d amp, and spec wise I think its overrated, I run mine in bridged mono mode wide open and control my volume with my pre amp and ive had no issues. back in the day adding a power amp to a head setup seemed insane because of the weight, but new class d amps changed that. my crown is like 12 lbs or something like that. so combined with the ampeg is still lighter than the majority amps that pre date the class d stuff.

Running them in series would also cause the 8 ohm cabinet to get more juice, so it will be louder. If you really want to use both cabinets your best bet is a power amp with two individual channels.
