Stupid things you've done as a bass player?

I'm guessing this thread will be moved to MISC, but...
What I regret most is how much money I've spent on basses and amps that I no longer have - either in succumbing to GAS or continually "trading up" to get the tone in my head. I've bought\sold six basses and four amps. I'm thinking of swapping out my UL410 for a Berg NV series cab, so I'll likely be throwing another wad of cash out the window.
I've had some pretty nice stuff and sold it for roughly half what I spent on it - pretty expensive learning experience...

I sold a CIJ 75RI Jazz for no reason. I wasn't playing it as much for a while but I didn't need to money or anything, it was a great bass and I should of kept it.
I am pretty sure my mom wins the noob of the century award though, she thought she would "get a couple of bucks" for my dads "old bass" that he "didn't play anymore" and pawned his '74 Ric 4001 for about $300.

well.. i tripped over my power cord and pulled my head of my cab 
... come to find its a very durable head haha... i also regret not starting sooner.. i started at 15 (last year) and wish i would have been playing for years now so i wouldnt feel as "unknowledgable" as i do right now

God... too many to even remember...
Got my guitar nicked, too much drink, forgot songs, pissed myself, squashed and broke specs between speakers, fell out of moving band van (going round roundabout too fast, Ford Transit sliding doors), turned up to play at wrong venue, fell out of window... etc.

didn't turn on my bass amp in the first song of the first set...half way through I realised the problem and turned it on, after when asked what happened I blamed the sound guy

That's about all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm shamefully sure there were a lot more than that.
Putting tape on my fingers in order to avoid getting callouses (did it for 2 days and decided it was a stupid idea)- Played thru keyboard amps at first (my primary instrument at the time)
- Ripping the frets out of my first bass (poorly - destroyed the fretboard)
- Buying a custom bass from MP Guitars w options I thought I wanted but were in fact terrible choices (SOLID bubinga body, lightwave electronics - heavy as hell, not the sound I wanted. Great feeling/construced bass...not a dig at all on MP Guitars. Ended up selling it at a significant loss to help purchase my Lakland)
- Leaving my favorite bass amp (Roland DB700) at a friends house where it was stolen out of the basement by his a-hole thug neighbors. Couldn't prove anything so I was pretty S.O.L.
- Opening a GC credit card to replace said amp
- Using Monster Cables
That's about all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm shamefully sure there were a lot more than that.
