Stupid things you've done as a bass player?

Before going on tour in the mid 90's, a local tv station had us on to play a song live. It was in the morning when we were to record the tune at the station studio. Well...needless to say somehow I lost the power cord to my amp. The station was just using mics to record the band live.

I just played as if my amp was cranking away. I saw the recording afterward and although I could tell (and thought it was hysterical), the lack of amplified bass didn't carry through on tv (this was back before everyone had home theaters/subwoofers).

When in doubt, the show must go on. :hiding:

I once traded a Fender 1960 something 100 watt, black face bassman head for a piece of **** solid state rack mounted pre & power amp... regretted it within about 3 weeks... the fender was "sold" to me by my teacher for like $200, with a nice 15inch enclosure...
I still miss that amp :rollno:
