Sorry in advance, I know that this is a stupid question, but I wanted to confirm what I'm doing before I start soldering things.
I was looking to add an internal switch to select between a battery and an CV input on my expression pedal. Here's the picture of the how its wired... all that really matters here is the input and the DPDT direction switch.
I think the input part is pretty straightforward... take the red wire from the stereo jack that usually gets a signal and attatch it to the center of an SPDT switch then use that switch to select the voltage source.
What I needed to confirm, is whether it will be sufficient to just attatch the negative lead from the battery clip to the ground on the stereo jack? Or do I need to totally take the battery out of the equation with a DPDT? As I said, I know this is basic, so thanks putting up with my lack of experience again!
