So i was thinking about maybe respraying my jazz, and i figured i'd make it into a 'fav bass/color/pg for what genre' thread! (as for the genre thing, it's just to know where you think it would fit best, as everyone knows it's just plain stupid to use a pink BCRich with a polka dot pickguard in a jazz band! everyone knows that bass would be in a gay band )

I love my natural aged Ash bodied jazz with a black pickguard. It looks so good for funk!

I'm sure it won't be long before someone responds with "Any bass can work for any genre", and yes that's more or less true, but I'll play along. How about ....

Rickenbacker
Blue body with white pickguard OR white body with black pickguard
Rosewood (not sure I've ever even seen a maple Rick, but then again I'm no gear expert)

Perfect for prog, especially a 70's kind of "old school" prog.
