Styles and Brands

I noticed (after reading threads from search) that people suggested amps/brands based on musical genres etc,. I was wondering if someone could give me a run down on the *stereotypical* genre that goes with a certain brand of amp such as:

Ashdown
Aguilar
SWR
EBS
Mesa
Gallien Krueger
Eden
Ampeg

I know it's probably been done before, but I couldn't get a clear read on what brands sort of lend themselves (for whatever reasons) to certain genres. Thanks.

You get those opinions often, but really, any amp can be used for any style. That's the truth. Some amps, (not brands) have a more gritty rock voice, while some are cleaner, or jazzy, but in the long run, it's the player, the bass, and the eq. of whatever amp, and then the speaker cabs. Alot of variables.
