SUB Bass issues (music man)

Ok so, it wasn't the battery. I will take my lumps and provide the solution (that I read on another thread in TB) Ok so the fix is simply to turn the volume pot down. Effing Duh. And whether dry or with effects in the chain, the clipping/burping/farting icky crap noise went away.

The Ray 4 should come with a one page check list that states: Are you experiencing the following?

Farts? Turn the output (volume) down by about 20%.

Most of this is my fault. I've only been playing bass for about five years. And of those five, the first three were all on passive basses. Which I tended to run wide open. By hobbit, I simply would crank all the knobs over for maximum fun. And my first active was my Ibanez (used) that is amazingly low maintenance. It just goes. I've not had one of these fickle pseudo MMs.

So anyway, I learned a few things. And you all were a delight. In conclusion:

Turn the volume pot down.

New import SUB or older US made SUB? I love mine, but I swapped out the preamp with one from SGD Lutherie (great upgrade for that bass, it's become my go to bass). My first inclination was the battery as well.
