They provided song sheets with chords and were okay with the fact that I was winging it.
No trademark parts except for the songs I knew by chance.
I did this because I knew the band is tight, all capable musicians, all able to lead a clueless bassist through a show. Plus, they knew me and my abilities, they would not have let just anyone play.
