Here's the deal. I will list my influences, favourite bands, style of music I play and you will suggest a new bass for me to purchase!

Im currently using a mexican fender jazz.


Influences: Incubus, The Strokes, Esthero, Arctic Monkeys, Mute Math, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, The Mars Volta, The Tea Party, Tori Amos...

Any Modern Rock with R&B and Jazz influence.

I'm in the process of finding a decent fretless to mod with an onboard fuzz and oscillator and throw in a kahler trem for good measure!

If you're keeping the J as well, a Stingray or P would be the perfect backup.

Warwick ash Corvette. like a punchier, sexier single coil sound, IMO. also, that teamed with your jazz will be pretty versatile.

Get a Fender Jazz 24 or a Stingray. Don't buy new, buy used. If you can, spend the extra for the Stingray, its worth every cent.

I'm glad no one thought I was kidding about the trem- I absolutely want one on a Geddy, refinished in sage green. Add a powerful preamp & I'm a happy man.

Check out the bass in my signature....it can cop a great P sound as well as grind away!!!

Jazz's and trems go together great, though I kept mine passive, with a series/parallel switch for a big 'bucker grind too.

The Stingray would be a great choice. Alternately a Sandberg might fit but it sounds a bit more like a P-bass I think.
