Suggestions for low end on two amp set up?

Hi Everyone,

Basically I'm looking for a combo amp that, in particular, handles sub frequencies well. I run my bass through an FEA dual band compressor, then take two outputs from the pedal to two amps. I have an orange tiny terror, which handles the high end of the bass and have been using an SWR 2x10 workingman combo to handle the subs (the signal is split around 120 hz). However, my SWR recently crapped out on me- I think I was just throwing too much at it. My band is loud and plays at medium sized venues mostly. I've been looking at some of the ampeg 15" combos, but was wondering if any of you had some suggestions for what to look at? I was hoping to not spend more than $400, but I'll do what I need to. Big low end requires massive power and enough speakers to handle that power. If you really want that super deep low end, you'll need a high wattage head and a large spkr cab. Better to push the mids with what you have, it's still plenty bassy, and won't kill your gear. Super low frequencies require alot more wattage than any combo amp will provide.

You should be looking at a power amp and a quality 215 or a real subwoofer, not another combo amp.

you think an acoustic b200h and 1x15 cab would fit the bill? I love the sound of these things...

I dont like combos much so my opinion is biased towards not using them.

I think their has been a few complaints about the chinese Acoustic drivers blowing easy. So if you tortured your SWR your most likely to kill the 1x15 combo too.

Like Will33 said if you want a 15" speakers cool.... but i would step up to 2x15 so either 2 1x15 cabs or a Single 2x15 cabinet.

If your running a tiny terror combo i would run another 1x12 extension cab with it.

Or if your running the Head Version i would do what i mentioned earlier, and run 2x15 fullrange and call it a day.

Most likely you would not have to goof around with bi amp setup if you just used larger speakers with better sensitivity....so 4x10 or 4x12 or 2x15

rather one big cabinet or split into 2 cabinets.....use more speakers...
