Summer Build Off 2024 : Bartender Precision Bass

Old crates on eBay are rather costly with the shipping fees so have a look at Marketplace with local pickup if you can.

And thanks for the comments. 👍
I live in California, Central Valley, so that’s a possibility.

Specifically I’m seeking Orange crates from my home town Glendora, ca. for my project.

And while I’m here, maybe someone would like to know where the name "Bartender Precision Bass" comes from ?

Anyway, here I go !

I don’t know about elsewhere but in my area, more specifically in some blues bars, there is sometimes a precision bass hanging on the wall surrounding the stage.

As I was wandering why, I decided to go ask the bartender why the heck is keeps a precision bass at the sight of everybody for no obvious reasons , at least to me.

His answer, although it may hurt a few fellows here, was quick and straightforward :

"I keep a precision bass handy here because sometimes, you bass players come here with fancy 5 string basses with inboard preamp and black nylon strings and when you get to play with the band, we lose you in the mix. When that happens, as a bartender and owner here, I just grab this garbage p bass and give it to the bass player and dictate him to use it and bingo everybody hear ya and restart clapping hands."

So I just thought a p bass made with a scotch wooden case would deserve the name of Bartender Precision Bass !
