Well the Trickfish is about 1000.00 more than the GR. The Trickfish is fanless but the fan in the gr is silent.
Both are basically set near flat as there is no need for a lot of EQ with either amp. The sound on both is the best I have ever heard. With these new amps I'm sure there are others that sound good also......

Hah! I love the color-matched rack ears on the Trickfish. Nice touch.

Ive never really been happier with a head than with the T-900. Having owned a few on this list, and many others. Ultimately though it depends on many other factors, like how it plays with the bass and cabinet, and in what musical context. Which is why I like the T900. It consistently plays well with every variation I've thrown at it, and has plenty of volume. This from a guy who recently was hauling a CA9 around.

As I read it, the OP is looking for "super clean, hi-fi" as a platform for pedal-based distortion (at least sometimes).
