That seems to happen often on them. It almost seems like the top wing is always figured and the bottom one is BLAH.

Are these basses just ridiculously bright sounding? My Poplar bodied Dyna-Bass 5 sounded great, but the brightness of it was the reason I let it go. I can't imagine all that maple can be tamed when you're dealing with a fairly hot/bright pickup/EQ configuration to begin with. These things probably sound the business for slap and funk!
