Super Squishy funky compressors?

I did a search and got a lot of hits on Toadworks Mr Squishy probably because of the work squishy but almost all were 10+ years old so here goes: I've got a compressor that I like that does a subtle smooth evening out and gets a little squishy if you push it - a Mooer Yellow Box. I'd also like to have something with a lot of funky squish and 2 or 3 knobs so not super complicated with toggles and dip switches etc. I played a recent MXR Dynacomp and thought it was cool but it had a lot of noise and it made a twack sound when you hit a note on the E string even when not pushing the compression - maybe it was a bad one. My son has a Stigtronics Grey Box (Ross clone) thats quiet and no twack and does the squish pretty good but they are scarce as hen's teeth. Any suggestions for a simple, affordable ( under $150 for sure) compressor for this type of effect? Maybe a Ross clone will do it but many of those seen to have some added knobs or the demo videos are with guitar not bass so its hard to tell what it will really sound like. Thanks in advance!

Solidgoldfx Horizon might be worth a look. I had one for a short time a few years back and recall it used to get pretty squishy and rubbery.

Those appear to be scarce and expensive but sounds like it would do the job. any cheaper more accessible suggestions?

I second this. I had this pedal for a while and it was like syrup. Instant finger funk in a box.

Dyna comps are crazy noisey. Check out the diamond comp for some solid squish without the noise.

Check out the Fairfield Accountant if you get a chance. It's intentionally over the top squishy as a kind of effect, but it also soft clips the input. Might be a little too dirty sounding for your taste but it definitely gets that "whump" and squish sound

yes, I owned one of these back in the day. Pleasant sounding.it can get squishy, but still sounds pretty tame when doing so. Lacks A bit of punch, maybe? Anyway, I moved it along and stuck with my Modified Boss CS3.

Pigtronix Philosopher Bass is by far the squishiest compressor I've ever used, and it's unique in that it's still actually useable when it's squishy. They are hard to find now though, but it's this one:

I don't know if the newer mini version has the same squishiness or not.

Also if you try one, keep in mind that it REQUIRES 18v, despite what it says on the pedal

I found a 2011 Keeley 2 knob compressor - squishy and very useable and not noisy but the search for super squishy continues!

Another vote for the Solid Gold Fx Horizon. If syrup-y bloom is what you want, it's one of the best. Extremely quiet, too, and great build quality. Keeps the lows and highs in your core tone intact, even with squish.
