Good enough. I'm not complaining, of course. Nothing to complain about with the bass. Just curious.I'm getting in over my pay grade. My tech chops are incidental from working as a customer service rep in a repair shop for a couple of decades and not from study/practical application. It may or may not be why the acoustic seems to be so "hot." The two real issues with an unbuffered piezo is that the gain structure, that is the matching of the two loads is screwed up. Some input structures handle it better than others. The other issue is that the mismatch creates a filter that eats low mids. That's one of the reasons why unbuffered (passive) piezo pickups sound buzzy and thin. You want a pre-amp with a really high, input impedance. A mega ohm or more.
As to your problem with levels. If the acoustic has a battery, it's possible/probable that it's putting out something close to line level. If it's going into a combo with an input that was designed for high impedance (not as high as piezo), really low level magnetic pickups, it would explain why the acoustic is coming in hotter than the electric bass.
