so i have an american svt 4 pro that i have been gigging for about three years now, and on a christmas day gig at a local casino, it started shorting out on me. it would play fine and then periodically, nothing. the clip light would come on when nothing was coming out, i would tap the amp and it would come back. it was infuriating and i am at a loss as to what's wrong with it. (fortunately my trusty countryman di which i never leave home without performed like a champion and no one in the audience noticed)

other helpful info is that i run it either through an 810 svt or a BSE410HLF with a speakon cable. :help:

Ah, yes.... "this box is shorted out"...... has anyone heard that before?

Ok, getting past the description........

If it is the preamp "peak" light, on left end of panel, then it is an odds-on chance that the problem is a broken solder joint somewhere in the "mute" circuit.

if it is the output "limit" light, over toward the right, that would be a different problem.

Which is it?
