SVT cab construction question

Can anybody tell what's the primary reason -or benefit- that the SVT 8x10" cab has four chambers instead of one big ?

More tighter sound or less disturbance between the speakers? Or more sturdy construction?

A cab that tall would have internal resonant modes, splitting it into smaller sub-enclosures prevents that. The partitions also stiffen the structure, to limit panel flexing.
