SVT Cab: Deal or Jip?

In addition is it a legit cab? It seems like the handles and back of cab are different than what I had years ago which was a 70ish blue line with cab. Also, I would probably restore it appearance wise, what would that cost?
You probably can't get hurt for $200 - especially if all the speakers work, and it sounds good - which it very well may... As for the handles, they look added on to me... Lastly, if you do it yourself, you can *probably re-tolex and replace the grill cloth for around $100...

it looks legit to me my handles on my flatback are in the same place. it just looks a little beat up and 5 speakers were swapped out for some reason. find out if he has the original speakers that came out of it. i would go for it just make sure its functional.

Restoring shouldn't be hard. unless your changing all the speakers. those might be hard to find.
but flip top might have all the stuff you need to refinish it.

I'd say you couldn't go wrong for that price, as long as there are no rattling or blown speakers. Recovering it shouldn't be that big of a task or costly. Those cabs can take all the watts you'll wanna throw at them, but the only thing about 8-10 cabs is that they are heavy as a mofo.....
$200 is a good price...especially if it is a real straightback 8x10. If it works then great...if not then replace a few of the speakers and get it back up and running. Cool vintage cab!
+1 to what TheNightLife said...handles are from factory, (mine's a '73 & the same).

yea they can handle alot but there not 800 watts rms lol there 50 watt speakers in the original svt which equates to 400 watts so be careful how much you actually throw at it. those speakers react very well to wattage. i have a lm3 markbass head hooked up to mine just for fun at home and its incredibly loud and very sensitive when it comes to volume. now the newer svt810's its different there 100 watt speakers and the lm3 isnt as sensitive on that cab.
op. seriously try to get the original speakers from him/her if they have them still. $50 a speaker to redo them but well worth it in my opinion they sound amazing.
