SVT-CL. Is it THAT bad ?

I just picked up a VR and I like the sound a lot better than the Classics. The classic tone wasn't that much better/different to me than a good solid state head. Not worth the weight and the expense and the tube maintenance.

The VR sounds good enough (different enough from my SS stuff) to put up with all that. It sounds huge...

three 12AX7's + two 12AU7's + six 6550 tubes = good solid state tone.

Isn't this the same tube compliment Ampeg has used for many different SVTs over the years?
