Hi, I have a chance to buy a SVT CL for $750 with a road case. I'm going to try it this weekend. I have heard good and bad things about this amp. Can I get some input? Thanks!

What kind of music are you playing? Makes a BIG difference. Plus, try searching, as there are scads of threads on this amp.
Buy it. You can always sell if for what you paid if you don't like it, which I can't see happening. It's an excellent head.
thanks guys, i play stoner rock ala fu manchu type of stuff and old school punk, and i have really been getting into 70's groove rock. i like the over drive sound of that amp. never played one so i figure i could always sell the road case, cause i will be in a touring band and recoup some money.

Sounds perfect for the music you play. Can't go wrong with an all-tube monster for $750 plus ATA case!

I got mine for $900 - it has a sizeable dent in the front edge of the enclosure, and no road case. I was happy with the deal, and love with the sound.
I sold my SVT Classic(in mint condition) for $1200. on Ebay and the guy paid $65 for shipping! The only reason I sold it was I mostly play in bars and it wasn't getting used. It is the best sounding amp I've ever played. Buy it now and don't look back. $750. is a steal!
update, i called the seller today and he told me that he would hold it for me. i'm going to pull the trigger and buy it.
I own an older SVT, and have played the CL and VR. I suppose they all can sound a little "different" but I couldn't really say which sounds better. Could be different factors. The CL is a monster for sure.

I got mine for $1000 out the door, brand new, USA made early last year.
$750 sounds like a deal either way to me, unless it is in some need or repair. Even if it just needs re-tubed though, that sounds OK.
