SVT classic Cabs the same Tone?

It was already explained a few posts up.

To me, the few 610HLF cabs I have played (provided backline gigs) sounded beefier in the low end than an 810E sealed cab. But @JimmyM has spent more hours in front of every Ampef cab than I have. I would go with his analysis.

Ah. Well there you have it. Honestly, I couldn't tell you which versions I used, but I haven't done a provided backline gig with one in quite a while. So likely SLM is what I used.

The SVT tone in my opinion is the sealed cabinet. So either a 810E or a 410HE. Also, I think I spoke with you about my 810. Im kind of on the fence about getting rid of it. I know Ill regret it lol

So here's an update. As I was telling you I really wanted an SVT classic 610 HLF cab. Well here's a quick little story. About 3 weeks to a month back GC had one in stock brand new but it was on sale with a " scratch and dent" price. One of the speakers was distorted or blown so the original buyer returned.it was marked down from $999.99 to 799.99. That's when I tried it out and fell in love. I told the salesman who is a good friend that if it was still there in 2 weeks I'd buy it. Well I went their this past Saturday with my PF500 head to play it and purchase it and someone else had put it on layaway. Was pissed. They had also marked it down to a clearance price of $604.00 which made me even more angry. Anyway I told my salesman friend to call me 1st if for any reason it came off layaway.

I dropped my Girl off at work today and stopped by GC which is close to her work. I had some funny feeling their might be something there that I would be interested in. Sure enough as soon as I walked in that Ampeg 610 cab was sitting in the clearance section. They had literly just put it there 2 mins before I walked in. My buddy mike wasn't working today so he couldn't have possibly called me and told me the guy had backed out of the deal. It was a meant to be thing. My other salesman buddy was working and I had told him the whole story on how I wanted it and how it all worked out. It really was just Kent to be because I wasn't going to go to Guitarcenter at all today but I had a gut feeling and went with it. I got a sweet deal on a brand new Ampeg 610 cab for $604.00. They also gave me the new speaker with it to replace the bad one
