Whats the deal with this? Anyone know what differentiates this from the SVT 6 and the SVT PRO IV? Anyone played on it or know who will carry it? Anyone own an SVT6 and recommend it?

At NAMM Ampeg AR told me that they were having a problem getting the SVT 8 Pro to pass FCC emissions.. I said i saw it at the last NAMM show and was waiting...
That has been the hold they told me.. I was waiting on its release since the 2006 NAMM show... Now almost a year and a half later.. still waiting.... Does anyone that you know have them in stock?

it's supposed to be the SVP-CL with a big class-D power section as far as I know? Pretty much the classic Ampeg sound but with SS back end...
Just get an svp cl pre and a real nice 1000 dollar poweramp and you'll still be saving 200 instead of buying this.

This amp sounds killer, i wonder if they will ever finish it.........seems like Ampeg has a problem of advertising new gear wayyyyyyyyy before they work out the kinks, I remember the same thing happining when they announced the PB800.
I can't imagine the thermal issues that thing might have. A tube generating heat, that power section generating heat... you better install extra fans in the back of your rack.
