SVT Suite Plugin

It sounds like you are using the free demo.
Indeed, it was the demo. However I would expect it to work in its 2 week trial mode. This was unusable after about 3 minutes of use. the second I would enable the vst on the track, it would start screaming. I have plenty of other vsts I use with no issues. I tried all sorts of troubleshooting methods. upgraded the firmware on my audio interface, updated all my drivers / daw / etc to no avail. It sounded amazing and I was ready to throw down my 200 bucks until this issue arose. The Ik rig is nice, but this ampeg suite plug-in sounded right. I have a svt-cl head and 810 fridge that I play through daily. this ampeg suite plug-in really mimicked what I hear well imho. I am planning on trying rhe suite again down the road as I hope they have worked out whatever is causing the issue I experienced.

You can still get a 14day trial
Injecting periodic noise is a common way to time bomb a plugin but most software sellers don't do until after the trial run.
Wonder if that is what it was doing. Seems odd to not even give me 5 minutes of use on a 2 week trial though. I would hate to shell out even the 100 bucks at half off and then have the same issue after purchase. I should give them an email and see what they say.

No problem with the trial here.

I suggest you try the trials of Brainworx/Plugin Alliance Ampeg plugins, especially if you're used to the real deal.
For reasons why I like it and its streamlined approach, read my first post I wrote in this thread.

Yep! The classic is a great plugin! I just got myself the VR, because it was on sale on UAD and on plugin alliance.

I just did the same using the code ANY-2999 at checkout for the full Brainworx SVT VR, not bad. Having already had the VR Classic for free in January, I was thinking about getting the Brainworx B15 instead for broader range, but I already know my taste and in the end I am more looking forward to playing with the extra bits of the full plugin instead!

Your video also helped.

TL;DR Heads-up: for (I guess) a very limited time, I grabbed a Plugin Alliance plugin (SVT VR by Brainworx, some of the best stuff around) for $29.99 (listed as $149) with code ANY-2999 - there are some exceptions (plugins not accepting the discount code) and there are other codes with 3999 and 4999 instead (you guess the price, lol), but you can Google that.

I messed around with it for a while: TBH, the VR classic has "the core", but it's nice to get all the rest and the way the midrange controls the drive. Plus, it's easier to OD and get a tube saturation with Channel 1 than Ch. 2 IMO.

@IvanBassist : since I guess you know this plugin inside-out, is there a way to bridge Ch. 1 to Ch. 2 like they used to do with a patch cable with the real hardware? I tried to guess with no success. In the virtual realm it's no huge deal, as you can replicate the behaviour with two instances of the same plugin in two different audio channels, but I confess that's the first thing I tried to do when I first fired it.
