SVT-VR, using both channels

when using both channels (synth into channel 1, and baritone into channel 2) - depending on pedals enganed, channel 1 gets very compressed and ducks to channel 2.
are they just passively summing?
tips?

Yes, passively mixed. There is a 100K mixing resistor on each channel tying them together. Other than lowering your signal levels, I don't know if there is much you can do.

Best to use an outboard mixer for stuff like that. I'm sure Ampeg's sister company Mackie has something that would suit you.
