SVT-VR with SVT410HLF?

i ran my SVT VR with an SVT410HLF and loved it. i happen to like the subs but it was still tight and focused.

i run it now with the SVT610HLF but i think that the 410HLF was a little better (smoother).

I really loved the sound with the 810 but I already own the 410HLF so... one step at a time, I guess

I've been seriously thinking of getting an SVT to replace my 3-Pro. I'm guessing you all feel the extra pre-amp tubes in the VR make a difference over the CL? I have two SVT-410HEs but never use the horns. I want to use only one 410 cab for practice, but I'm a little concerned about using the SVT with an 8 ohm load. Any thoughts?

i just would rewire the 8 ohm cab to 2 ohms for an SVT. if you want to use two cabs, make series speaker cable and run it at 4 ohms.

If you were referring to rewiring slick_tu's SVT-410HE, his model is equipped with 32 ohm speakers and already wired in parallel. Your suggestion would work with most other 4x10's, but just not with his particular model.

Thanks, guys; that's a big help. Sounds like if I find a pot of gold (yeah, like that ever happens) I could replace all 4 with 16 ohm drivers and end up with a 4 ohm cab.
