Swapping between BASSES... how does it affect you?

How does swapping between basses affect you?

Which basses do you gravitate towards the most?

-------------------------
I bounce between the 11 basses I own but seem to be drawn back towards my Fretless basses, my Shortscale basses, my Hollowbody basses, 4 String basses, Vintage Fretwire, and TI JF strings.

I played a gig with my '69 P bass w/ Roto rounds last night. Really noticed the Roundwound strings and long scale. Realised how much I love vintage fretwire.

Love that bass but feel most at home on my Rob Allen Mouse and vintage Fender Coronado II hollowbody bass w/ TI's (both 30"). Those two get 95% of my playing time at home.

Which basses do you always go back to? Why?

I have fourteen 21 to 25" scale bass ukes and mini electric basses, acoustic and solid body. My first was a Gold Tone fretted MicroBass 23" acoustic that I've used for most gigs with the ukulele group to which I belong, but lately I've been using a mini P-bass from SmallGuitars.com that I like a lot. But I still rotate between all of them regularly.

I swap regularly between my short and regular scales. To be honest, if I start out on a shorty and then move to regular it takes a couple of songs to get into the feel. If I move the other way, from regular to short, I suddenly feel like a better bassist :D
