Swapping Electronics Questions

I LOVE the feel of my Schecter Stiletto Custom-5, but i like my ibanez's "sound" better.
I want to swap the pickups and preamp from my Ibanez SRX655.

Now the Ibanez's pickups are a bit wider than the schecter, that's pretty straight forward.
But my schecter has a total of 4 pots. (Neck, bridge, blend, and volume)
The Ibanez has 3 pots, (neck, bridge, volume) and a 3 way selector switch.

What I'm wondering though is my options for doing this. The Ibanez is definitely louder than the schecter overall. The schecter, I believe is all passive. EMG40hz pups with an "active" eq, but I've always treated it as a passive bass. The ibby on the other hand is the exact same, Ibanez passive pups, active eq, but sounds active. I'm wondering if I can get the active sound from the ibanez, and exactly how I would go about doing it.
Is it possible that I could just swap out the pickups? Or does the on-board eq have more to do with overall tone than I'm assuming?

With enough time and patience, I'm capable of doing this myself (which is why I ask questions here)
But does anyone with any exp. have any info, tips, or advice?

Well, the Ibanez SRX655 pickups are large-pole AlNiCo pickups that are very strong sounding and seem to have wider response range than their ceramic cousins in the lower numbered series. I would have to think a bit before routing the Schecter body, as those pickups may not sound the same in it, but the pickups sound great even w/o the preamp. BTW- the controls are vol, bass boost/cut, treble boost/cut, and the selector switch if stock. (Of course, using the 'boost' will give an even stronger signal). If you're set on putting those pickups in the Schecter, 'Drums Etc' should have them- they sell Ibanez parts.
