I am making plans to go to Texas the first week of June, we'll be flying into Austin and i'm going to go to the Bass Emporium and spend a few hours checking out cabinets for my new T-funk 750! Oh yeah! There isn't anything comparable (a bass dedicated store with mad equip) within 800+ miles of where I live, so i'm going to get to try a lot of stuff I wouldn't otherwise have the oppurtunity to.

So i'm flying down there and won't have my head with me, I doubt they will have a T-funk there so any suggestions on a comparable head that might be in stock I could use to A/B some cabs? I think i'll be able to get a good idea what they can do with some messing around.

Also, since my daughter and various other family members will be there I came up with a great plan to keep them entertained for a while. I've been wanting to get my kid a bass for quite a while now (she's 13 and has played drums for almost three years now), so I figure I can say "ok, your limit is $500, find a bass you like and we'll take it home!". I'm excited for her, of course I want to pass on my love of this instrument, plus it will give me something to play while im down in TX.

Best of all I get to see some dear family and spend time with them in San Marcos and New Braumfels. But I am excited to try out some gear. I've got a lot of shows lining up for the summer and i'm so happy about my new amp!

You may want to contact the guys working there for some advice. They may have one in stock or can get a hold of one for you. You may get a chance to talk to Ed Freidland. I believe he lives in Austin and teaches there. I live in San Antonio. Good Luck

Welcome. I'm sure you've got this pretty well planned out but depending on what time of day your here travel times (traffic) could be longer than you think. PM me if you have ?'s. Bass Emporium just might have a T-funk but I'm not sure, could stop by and see. I would try and pack your head with you if at all possible.

Make that call now. I've never been there, but called twice with some questions and they were very helpful and genuinely interested in pointing me in the right direction!

I was actually referred to these guys from Bergantino from an e-mail inquiry. They we're very nice in our e-mail contact and definitely gave me the impression they want to help as much as possible. I'll always shop at the places that treat me well. :)

I was thinking of travelling with my head, but it didn't seem worth the risks. I suppose I could pack it in a carry-on, maybe that's the right approach? Anyhow if I could make sure to have mine or another of the same model it sounds like would be ideal. I'll do what I can to try and line that up!
