Sweetwater Dent and Scratch ??

Sweetwater is selling a Hofner Beatles Bass for $250 that is about $100 off from everywhere else ... because it is under the Dent and Scratch items ... Has anyone used this lower price bargain deal before... ?

I've gotten several things through Sweetwater's scratch and dent / returns everything has turned out ok, fwiw.

i wouldn't expect sweetwater to sell anything 'dishonestly'. i have always found them to be 'forthright' in their assessments of gear and condition (i've purchased scratch and dent audio stuff).

In December I bought a Scratch and Dent Lakland 44-64. The imperfection was shown in their product pictures, yet when I received the bass I could not find the imperfection. Kinda weird, but they knocked $200.00 off the original price. Very satisfied, and their return policy covers these instruments as well.

Well I did it. I ordered the dent and scratch Hofner violin bass.... I have no idea what I will tell the wife .... But anyway in a few days I will have it... Can't wait!!!

Ya ... maybe I'll play on a rooftop someday and I can return that play-list ... but my Hofner is right handed too ...

I bought my Fireface 800 from Sweetwater’s scratch and dent and saved almost $500. It had been dropped and a rack ear was bent. Worked perfectly for the 7 years I had it.

Having worked there, I have no problem buying that kind of thing from them. Quality outfit all around. Chuck built a pretty great thing.

I wouldn't be afraid of anything from Sweetwater. One the top dealers in the country. I've only bought one guitar that was a "blem", from a very reputable dealer in Salt Lake City. He showed the blem in a video, which was just a tiny dimple in the finish on the back. The price was about $400 off normal street price. It's one of my favorites now, and I couldn't find that blem if I had to.

That said, not all dealers are as scrupulous as others.

I've been impressed by Sweetwater's handling of these types of sales. My "Sweetwater guy" seems willing to keep an eye out for things of interest and let me know when there' a deal. No complaints so far.

Blems or Scratch and Dent from a reputable dealer like Sweetwater can be some of the best bargains out there. Enjoy your bass.
