There is no way to “prove” either side. I can make an unboxing video, and then after I stop the video, I can beat the snot out of the bass with a hammer and blame the other side. As I’ve said, I think both parties are being genuine.
What I didn’t say. $600 means a lot to an individual. $600 means nothing to a corporation. Unfortunately, Sweetwater has created a situation where that $600 means something to both the customer and the sales engineer. That is really the underlying issue here, unless I’m missing something. I am not blaming Sweetwater; in some ways the position they are creating is the best way a corporation can handle this type of situation.
(I make decisions every day on behalf of a small corporation. Add 2 or more likely 3 zeroes before you have a shot at getting my attention. I would give the customer the $600 benefit of the doubt even if I thought they were full of it. Social media backlash can be painful, and you never know when that will happen.)
