It's so individual right? I have always wanted to like Eden. I've owned 2. Just something about the low end that doesn't sit right with me. It sounds kind of flat not round. I don't know. I know this is all subjective. Glad you found the sound in your head.Speaking of Eden, just yesterday I received a used WT-300. I used to run two of them at the same time; one going into an 8x8 & one into a 2x12 so I could EQ each cab separately (courtesy of Evan Sheeley & Chad Beeler at Bass Northwest in Seattle around 1997 or so). It's the only amp I ever got compliments from soundmen asking "What kind of bass amp is that? It's the best sounding amp I've ever heard" at all type of different venues. I started with SWR, moved to Ampeg then found my sound with the Eden WT-300's. The sound I got yesterday out of it was the same sound I remember![]()
I remember Musicians Friend blowing those out for like $29. I still have mine but it’s just sitting on the shelf, took it to many a gig though.Remember these old Yamaha boxes, turns out it makes a simple but killer pre. It helps to have a cool amp that accepts line or instrument levels though.

I had an NE1 for a while. I liked it but apparently not enough to keep it. I do have a Yamaha PB1 preamp now though that is amazing. Highly recommend that. Use it for practicing (headphone out) and recording.Remember these old Yamaha boxes, turns out it makes a simple but killer pre. Make a badge with your initials instead of SWR's initials. These people get enough free advertising! After decades of searching, I finally scored a first generation Goliath with the original stamped frame drivers. Anyone have a SWR Goliath badge that they would be interested in selling? Alternatively, does anyone here know where I could have a replica produced?

That's a great amp by the way.
Yes of course that's true. But just as a general sentiment, I don't think there's anything wrong with personalizing your gear, and for some of these companies- not SWR particularly- they are big enough and get enough advertising without our help, especially after splashing for their expensive gear.Well. The company, along with its founder, are long gone so I don't think they're looking for advertising.
Super rare but SWR made a lightweight 4x10 called Golight in two versions.
SWR golight - 4 x 10" Marcus Miller
Iirc, they were developed at the same time.Good info agedhorse. I haven't seen any Golights lately. I would have never expected a Bassman to resemble anything like a Goliath
