Cut those unwanted sub frequencies that SWR doesn't filter out.

I hear ya. I run the EQ flat, but will apply the aural enhancer with my fretless. Those sub freqs rock in the home studio where it will see +90% of her work.

I use the Carvin DCML series for weight and depth,they are only 10.5 inches deep so you can get a shallow rack.

I'm using a QSC PLX1804 with my SWR M2 preamp and it's great too.

I'm in! Love these cabs, the only thing that really bothers me is that they don't stack well on each other.

I'm surprised to hear that. I have a Silverado II combo and two different Son of Bertha cabs...one from two different eras: SWR Engineering and SWR Sound. Both lock in beautifully as if they were one unit. Weird

I'm sure this isn't exactly what you're looking for, but I use a MESA Boogie Strategy 400 with the Gran Prix, which isn't ridiculously expensive and isn't quite as heavy as an Ampeg SVT Classic head (but not exactly lightweight). Either way I think its a great combination that nestles well in a 6 space rack with the Grand Prix and a power conditioner.

Gran Prix-amp

1998 Silverado II Combo

One Son of Bertha (SWR Engineering) & One Son of Bertha (SWR Sound)...both drivers have since been replaced w/ FaitalPRO's 15HP1020 (insane)

Been using the Gran Prix paired up w/a MESA Boogie Strategy 400 for a while and I can't seem to get quite the SWR sound I'm used to with the Silverado combo. I know the MESA is seasoning my tone with it's own flavor but I absolutely love the clarity and punch of that combo and I'm concerned if it's getting lost in the MESA.

Please help me my SWR-loving brothers
