Im the bass player in the 17 piece Shrine Jazz Band in New Orleans. My favorite for bass is the California Blonde (VERY CLEAN), followed closely by the workingman 210 combo. Would love to have the redhead one day.

Hey Trace, Actually the fishing you were doing was against forum rules. You really should move that over to the Amps section of the For Sale. Second, I would appriciate everyone not hating in this forum. It is not an owners club, but a fan club. If you are not a fan, that cool, just keep it to yourself and post over in the Trace Elliot club. Gem wasn't hatin on your choice, but putting an opinion out there. Should never be an issue even if you disagree, everyone here is entitled to an opinion. You like your TE's. I don't. No harm.. I am glad it works for you and you get the sound you want. Don't get angry if someone in the SWR Forum disagree's...

C. I only see one person throwing hate here.
I asked nicely to "not hate" the brand I prefer and again was answered with another round of "smack talking" that "did not contribute the the thread".

D. IF someone responded favorably, I would move it to the proper forum. I believe if the Moderator thought as you do, the Moderator would have moved it already.
As it was content specific to SWR owner/fans only, this seemed to be the right place.
Evidently it is the wrong place to be for people who own other makes of equipment.

E. It is also a TOS violation for you (a non moderator) to talk publicly about forum rules and moderation. That should be done by PM or via a Moderator (per the Moderator I talked to).

I will remove my "fishing" post and unsubscribe from this thread.

Thanks for the "warm welcome", you can have the club number I asked for back, too.

Hey everyone have a question. Have the opportunity to pick up a Goliath II Jr 2x10 and Goliath II 4x10 stack.On the back of the 4x10 it states that it is 8ohms. The back on the 2x10 does not say what the ohms are. I thought I read that all Goliath II 2x10 cabs were 4 ohm...is that true? I kinda hope not...I was wanting to use the 2x10 and 4x10 together with my Pre-fender SM-900 in bridge Mode and as you know the min rating on the SM-900 in bridge is 4ohm. Can anyone confirm that abou the 2x10?

Both the Goliath Jr and Goliath have been available for year in both 4 ohm and 8 ohm versions.

If you have a multimeter, or access to one, work out the impedance yourself by measuring the DC resistance. It'll come up about 3 ohms (roughly) DC for a 4 ohm cab and 6ish ohms for an 8 ohm cab.

For safety, I'd recommend just going full range (stereo) on your SM900. Running at 4 ohms bridged will mean that your amp will get very hot.

SWR Grand Prix Preamp w/ Stereo 800 Power Amp (thru LDS 2x8 3-ways). Use for strictly 4 or 5-string work with ensembles. Wonderful tone!

My golliath jr was 4 ohms. They came in both 4 and 8 ohm versions. If you were to use the sm900 in bridged mode with a 4 and 8 ohm cab, you would be running something like 2.6 ohms. My bass 750 will run down to 2ohms, not sure about what version sm900 you have

I've gotten re-aquainted with SWR this year. I picked up a

Big Bertha 2x15

Workingman's 2x12

and a Super red-head. For the three piece's I paid just over $1200 All are in great shape. I can't wait to do an out-door fest this summer. Oh I'll be using a Crown 1000 watt power amp to run the 2x15. Talk about moving some air. My neighbors love me.

Hey all, nice place you have here.

I have a green line Grand Prix, swapped the tube for a 5751 and the sweetness just rolls out of the thing. Peavey DPC for the power side.
