SWR Goliath I driver question

Hi - need some help, please. I pulled the drivers from Goliath I cabinet today expecting to find ED-488 Eden drivers. What I did find were four matching drivers, stamped steel frame. On the magnet are the characters X4240, as well as 1056 8838. On the cone if I read correctly, is 337 188 (could be 337 488). Any idea what these are, if they're original or other info? They appear to have been in the cabinet forever, but - it is a 'built by Eden' cab so even replacements could have been there forever. Sorry to be so long winded, and thanks in advance. Forrest...

Dr. Jim - thx for taking the time to reply, u r kind. Here's a picture of the front of one of the drivers. I can take others if it helps, but thought I'd save the server space until it proves necessary. Since I'm posting and using up space, I went ahead and contributed via paypal...thx again, Forrest

I know this is an old post, but I just stumbled across it, and I'm sure it will show up in a google search one day. The speakers in question are absolutely, without a doubt, the original speakers. I have two original SWR Goliath cabinets with cloth grills. One was purchased new in '87. (I believe) The other was bought new about a year later. The speakers are different in my two cabinets. The first has the stamped steel baskets, the second has cast aluminum baskets. They both appear to have the same magnet and cone, just different baskets. The aluminum framed speakers do not have any markings on the magnet. Btw, the markings on the cone are 337 488.

Cool! I wonder if the PAS drivers in my old (now sold) early goliath ll (~1990-91) were the same as the the drivers in your cabinet with cast aluminum baskets—assuming I am understanding correctly that the cast baskets were on the later cab.
